The Päijän 520 is only available as the L-model that features storage compartments in the front and middle seats… and more! The 2025 model also includes standard internal channels from the stern to the front-mid storage compartment for electric motor cables. The lockable storage compartment is a dry space designed for an external battery or other valuable belongings. With these features, the L-model is optimised for electric engines with external batteries, allowing you to enjoy nature without engine noise while rowing carefree, with your equipment neatly stored in the compartments. The new L-model replaces the Päijän 520 Le-model (2023–2024).

The Päijän rowing boat offers unparalleled stability. The Päijän always features a wide double-hull structure that has flat bottom in the middle, a high keel, and large flotation pontoons on both sides. These features together make our unsinkable boat the best on the market in terms of stability and safety. The hull design and high buoyancy also ensure that the boat is directionally stable, easy to row, and glides smoothly when powered by a motor without unnecessary resistance. If using a larger motor, you can purchase an optional trim tab for the stern, which prevents the stern from sinking and the bow from rising, especially when driving alone
The boat’s high and heavy keel is reinforced with steel rods cast into solid resin. This design makes it leak-proof while keeping the boat's center of gravity low and providing excellent directional stability when rowing. The steel rods also prevent wear on the bottom, even if the surface layer wears away completely due to heavy abrasion. In such cases, the resin casting prevents leaks from spreading to other parts of the boat. If such wear occurs, the keel should be repaired with fibreglass, resin, and gel coating.
Both the exterior and interior surfaces of the boat are coated with a thick, hard, and glossy gel coating, which is also easy to repair in case of an accident. The smooth surface comes directly from the mold, while the rough laminated fibreglass typically seen in rowing boats is hidden inside the 2-shell hull. This structure helps our boats withstand harsh Nordic weather conditions while maintaining their beautiful appearance for years. Thanks to this, cleaning the surface of the boat is easy with just water. The typical lifespan of a Päijän rowing boat exceeds 50 years.
The 2025 model offers two colour options: Classic Green or Deep Blue. The Blue Syvänne-colour was first introduced as a limited edition in 2024. The exterior colour of the 2025 model is similar, but the interior colour is slightly darker than the limited edition model.
